Designed to meet you at whatever stage you're on in your artistic journey, my workshops focus on exploring how to create elegant and beautiful patterns by integrating freehand biomorphic motifs with structured geometric foundations. My skills-based teaching is supported by slide presentations on historical context, helping students engage and connect with the rich artistic traditions that inspire my own work. Braided Borders

An introduction to threaded patterns

Threaded borders were a staple design element in Ottoman decoration, ideal for framing pages, panels and calligraphic compositions in a wide range of applications.
Over two sessions, you’ll learn how to construct a simple geometric foundation and discover how to combine this underdrawing with graceful freehand curves and enchanting motifs.

Islamic Art Week is a FREE online global festival bringing together thousands of participants to immerse themselves in live workshops and demonstrations from 37 artists who are passionate about sharing their knowledge of an art form that has inspired the world for centuries.

Finding Purpose in Patterns

I co-organised and contributed three pieces of work to this exhibition of geometric and biomorphic art, celebrating friendships forged during the Pandemic through taking classes with Adam Williamson.

In this two-session online workshop, we will begin to unlock the secrets of the floral style known as Hatayi that thrives in Turkish, Persian and Islamic artistic traditions.
