Designed to meet you at whatever stage you're on in your artistic journey, my workshops focus on exploring how to create elegant and beautiful patterns by integrating freehand biomorphic motifs with structured geometric foundations. My skills-based teaching is supported by slide presentations on historical context, helping students engage and connect with the rich artistic traditions that inspire my own work. Downloadable guides and practice sheets are provided to facilitate ongoing learning.

Radiant Medallions

Art of the Shamsa Motif

The shamsa motif has long served as a refined vessel for intricate decoration, functioning as an ornamental medallion that marks, honours and frames the most significant elements of a work.
Looking at historical examples, we will combine geometric and freehand approaches to construct and embellish our very own design.

Exploring S-Curved Patterns with a Floral Flourish

Finding Purpose in Patterns

I co-organised and contributed three pieces of work to this exhibition of geometric and biomorphic art, celebrating friendships forged during the Pandemic through taking classes with Adam Williamson.

Decorative floral ornamentation has long captivated our imaginations with its beauty and elegance, from intricate Mamluk manuscripts to the vibrant tiles of Iznik and the splendid marble inlays of the Taj Mahal. 
In this two-session online workshop, we will begin to unlock the secrets of the floral style known as Hatayi that thrives in Turkish, Persian and Islamic artistic traditions.
